To me a Christian Science healing clearly manifests the power of God. I had a healing at the time I was breast-feeding our third child. The birth had been a joyous experience with little discomfort. I had chosen to feed the baby naturally, although the previous children had been fed from a bottle.

I was surprised when after a while the force of the feedings left my breasts sore and painful. Each feeding was agony. So I switched to bottle feeding. This didn't succeed either, because it is believed that abrupt cessation of nursing causes a painful condition. For a few days I remained uncomfortable, then I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer.

After hanging up the phone, I fell asleep briefly from the exhaustion of the past few days. When I woke, it happened to be feeding time. Feeling confident of God's healing power, I took up the baby and fed him naturally, painlessly. As I realized later, the milk supply wasn't even considered. There was a perfect adjustment, and no further difficulty for the duration of the nursing.
