The next step?
Do you want to know more about what you've been reading? A Christian Science Reading Room is a good place to start. In its quiet surroundings you can read and ponder the Bible, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, and begin a study of the weekly Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. Pamphlets, leaflets, and magazines such as this one are also available to help explain Christian Science healing. And the staff there will be happy to answer any questions you might have about Christian Science.
A continuing invitation
Members of The Mother Church are invited to write articles and poems for the periodicals. Convincing testimonies of healing are also welcomed from members, as well as from those who have not yet joined The Mother Church.
Specific guidelines may be obtained by writing The Christian Science Publishing Society; Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editorial Department, P-602; One Norway Street; Boston, MA, U.S.A. 02115. Manuscripts should be sent to the same address.
All contributions accepted for publication become the sole property of The Christian Science Publishing Society.
Visitors welcome
Former homes of Mary Baker Eddy
1908–1910 Chestnut Hill home—400 Beacon Street, Newton, Massachusetts. Here Mrs. Eddy completed work on the Manual of The Mother Church and brought to fruition the publishing of the newspaper The Christian Science Monitor. An exhibit traces Mrs. Eddy's role as Founder and Leader of the Christian Science movement—preaching, teaching, writing, and commenting on issues still current.
1875–1882 Lynn home—12 Broad Street, Lynn, Massachusetts. Here Mrs. Eddy completed her manuscript for Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. This is also where she initiated many foundational steps in establishing the Christian Science movement, including the formation of the Christian Science Association, the Church of Christ, Scientist, and the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. Here also Mrs. Eddy was ordained as Pastor of her Church.
Tour days and hours of these homes vary. To arrange a visit, please get in touch with:

Everyone finds his own "right moment" to apply
No one can say when you'll realize you're ready. But if you're seriously studying Christian Science, the time will certainly come to apply for Mother Church membership.
Many have found that uniting with The Mother Church is an important step in their spiritual progress. It has given them renewed impetus Spiritward, a greater sense of the universal scope of Christian Science. Like them, you may sense, as you read the membership application and consider the meaning of its requirements, that membership is just the support you need to stay "on course."
We welcome your application. You can get the form from any Christian Science Reading Room, branch church, or society; from someone who's already a member of The Mother Church; or from a public practitioner listed in The Christian Science Journal or The Herald of Christian Science. Or you may write directly to The First Church of Christ, Scientist; Clerk of The Mother Church, A-172; 175 Huntington Avenue; Boston, MA, U.S.A. 02115.
