I would like to express my deepest gratitude to God for the...
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to God for the great good that I have received through Christian Science. The Bible says, "One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts" (Psalms).
A few years ago while I was working for a major corporation, gradually I came to realize that my work situation was not right for me and that I needed to remove myself from it. The company that employed me was engaged in activities I considered to be unethical and counter to mankind's best interests.
The more anxious I became to leave the company, however, the more difficult it seemed to take this step. This caused me turmoil. At that time I developed a skin condition on my leg. At my request a Christian Science practitioner prayed for me, and I came to see many things that needed to be resolved through divine Love.
As I prayed to listen for God's guidance, it became evident that I needed to love everyone in the company (including supervisors and fellow employees who were becoming increasingly hostile and distant). My prayer became purer and clearer in this effort to love.
Then one day I was called in by my supervisor and told to turn in my resignation. The next two days gave me a small glimpse of that Christly love which Christ Jesus expressed when he said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke). I was able to leave with a feeling of love and freedom, and to embrace and wish well those who had shown hostility toward me. "Love looseth thee, and lifteth me,/ Ayont hate's thrall" states a hymn with words by Mrs. Eddy (Christian Science Hymnal). Shortly thereafter my wife noticed that the skin condition had completely cleared, and no trace of it had returned.
Soon I was offered a job with a company that provided much greater opportunities and rewards and whose business practices were ethical and respectable. This company was also rated as one of the top companies in the country to work for.
In Christian Science we learn that physical healing is the smallest part of any demonstration and that spiritual renewal and regeneration are the most important things. God's "mighty acts" indeed are a source of continual gratitude and praise in my life. I thank God for Christian Science, which has helped me and my family so very much.

I am Kelly's (James's) wife, and I witnessed the beautiful healing of the skin condition. During the time of which Kelly speaks he experienced so much growth in unconditional love for his fellow man. When he was asked to resign from his job, he was very grateful and confident that God was leading him. He never seemed to be depressed at all about being let go and having to find a new job even though he had a family to support. It was shortly after this that the new job opened up and his leg had healed completely.
It is a pleasure to live with Kelly because of his dear love for God. He sincerely practices and lives Christian Science in every aspect of his life. I, too, am very grateful for this Science and for God's tender love for all of His children.
