One day I developed severe pain in my right knee
One day I developed severe pain in my right knee. Soon my whole leg was painful. Despite my daily prayer and the study of Christian Science, the condition did not yield. Time passed, and it seemed I might have to use a cane for walking.
My thoughts of others weren't quite pure, that I knew. One of my relatives had been unwell for some years. I had been holding the opinion that she was having to suffer for wrongdoing. These thoughts recurred frequently and were like gravel in clear water.
Finally one morning after I had studied the Bible Lesson and prayed, I took a stand against the evil suggestions clouding my view of my family. I saw the relative I have mentioned in her true being as the pure, spiritual child of God. I included my other relatives in this, too, for I had sometimes felt I had been wronged during the war years and since that time. Now I loved them all with my whole heart, recognizing that they were all the beloved children of God, incapable of committing wrong.
