Imagine me at age twelve, riding a moped twice my size on a sidewalk. Let me explain my strategy at such an early age: "Wow. I finally got this bicycle-with-an-engine out of the garage. Now maybe I'll ride it on the sidewalk to be sure I do not hit a car."
As I was riding down the sidewalk, out of nowhere appeared a cat. As I swerved to avoid it, I hit a brick wall. I was going at least twenty miles per hour at the time. The impact left me unconscious; and when I came to, the sight of one of my legs frightened me so much I fainted again.
When I regained consciousness I found myself at home. My mom was praying for me. Next to me was an opened copy of the book that was so familiar to me—Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I read these words from the page open to me: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter."
