Turning to God for wisdom
If we truly want to do the right, the good, the intelligent thing, don't we have to look to the source of all righteousness, goodness, intelligence?
How wonderful to realize that the wisdom to act rightly in any circumstance comes from God! The Bible assures us: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering."
A belief that God is some sage up in the sky to whom we can appeal for help in making a decision, and who may or may not answer our prayers, would not take us further than faltering faith, would it? Through our study of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we learn that God is infinite, all-knowing Mind, all-seeing, all-loving, all-acting. We learn that man is the very expression of this Mind—God's intelligent ideas. Not one of God's ideas is outside of this allness of Mind. God thoroughly knows His ideas and supplies their every need. God is a loving Father-Mother and the only cause impelling right action. Doesn't that sound like One we can trust? One in whom we can have full faith?
Then, does this mean that we can throw caution to the wind and do whatever we choose, trusting that God will take care of everything? No! If we accept God as the only Mind, we must listen—silence the erring material senses and human will—and proceed according to what is revealed to us by prayer and spiritual intuition.
