Sin: the bad news and the good news

Could it be that sin is making a comeback in the nineties?

Well, yes, it's true there has always been more than enough sin! But what we mean is that in this decade people may be more willing to face up to the basic human need to overcome sin. Discussion of the topic seems to have been nearly ruled out of thought in recent years. Now we're seeing increasing public attention to ethics and morality.

But why talk about sin, you ask? What good is there in bringing up that subject?
