In a cabin in the pines
I wasn't that excited about camp the summer when I was ten. For one thing, my best friend at camp and I were put in different cabins because we caused so much trouble when we were together. Both of us had been warned by our older sisters that we'd better behave—or else! Even though I thought it was unfair to separate us, I did want to have a good summer.
I hardly got to see Letty at all. When I did, some counselor was always there to break us up. It seemed as if they thought we were planning something bad. One afternoon after free swim we walked together from the beach back to our cabins Letty said she wasn't feeling well, and when I looked at her I was surprised to see that she was almost crying! I got kind of worried, and when we split up to go get dry clothes on, I began to wonder what I should do.
Letty and I lived in different parts of the United States, but we had both been attending the Christian Science Sunday School since we were little. I didn't know for sure if she was praying about the situation, but I thought maybe I should.
