Is there an answer to incurability?

Even when a disease has been labeled "incurable," we can still turn to God for healing.

The question was put to me recently "How come you're so sure that Christian Science has the answer to all ills?" I am sure. Haven't I already witnessed many proofs of its healing efficacy when I have sincerely and trustingly practiced what it teaches us of God's healing power?

Thirty years ago, sixty-seven doctors, specialists, and professors of medicine agreed that my husband had just one month to live. They had examined him at a medical convention he had been invited to attend in the hope of finding a cure for his illness, which they had diagnosed as a rare disease called scleroderma. They did not tell him their prognosis, merely advising me that nothing further could be done for him.

At this time we were introduced to Christian Science. We began attending the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in our community and enrolled our children in the Christian Science Sunday School. We learned to pray from the basis of Christian Science, affirming God's allness. We studied the Bible, together with the Christian Science textbook and other writings by Mrs. Eddy. Reading the Bible, once a depressing chore for my husband, became a joy because the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, gave us a better, a more spiritual and enlightened, view of the Scriptures. And we learned that we have right at hand, at all times, a loving Father, who is always available, forever cherishing us in His love. Christ Jesus tells us of this Father, God, "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32. And he also explains that the kingdom of God is to be found within us.
