From hand to hand

The Sentinel is meant to be shared. And these days it's going far beyond church walls. In a world that is increasingly hungry for spiritual meaning, the Sentinel is vital food. Here's how our readers share it. Each month we'll tell you about what happens when readers either give or receive a copy or a subscription. (Let us know your own experience We may be able to use it in this space.)

The Editors

"Last year I got talking with a lay reader and Director for Service for the EpiscopalChurch at the University of Vermont. During our conversation I mentioned the Sentinel, and he said he'd like a sample copy sent to him.

"Some time later I ran into him again. He said he was regularly buying the Sentinel from the local Reading Room. And he told me that he makes a beeline for one of the Reading Rooms in the airports When he travels around the country. His wife was reading the Sentinels too.

"More recently he told me that he now subscribes to the Sentinel."
