At one time I wrestled with a personal relationship situation that seemed to dominate my waking hours. How I prayed that this all-consuming trouble would just leave me and go away! I had been a working student of Christian Science for many years and had proved numerous times the healing efficacy of its teachings. Other personal relationship problems had been worked out and clarified with spiritual growth as a result. However, this particular situation hung on for several years.

Through it all I was forced to dig deeper. Foolish pride, self-justification, self-will, and self-ignorance had to be exposed and eradicated through spiritually scientific prayer. This entailed much heart-searching on my part. I was awakened and aroused to the need for further spiritual development.

In turning to the Bible one day, I came upon this verse from the book of Nahum (1:13): "Now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder." Here was food for thought! I pondered this verse and found great release and freedom; it was as though a weight had been lifted from me. As I learned to separate the errors of sense from the individual who had troubled me and from myself—seeing us both in our real natures as God's perfect spiritual ideas—I felt more peaceful. Today I can honestly say how grateful I am for this opportunity to grow in grace.
