Never beyond the reach of Love

Understanding God's love for others puts us in the best position to help them.

These days I am aware as never before of worldwide human sorrows and suffering. I contribute financially as I am able. But for the hungering, thirsting refugees and the homeless, I yearn to give food and drink, to clothe them, to see them safely sheltered, secure. Yet at best, I can humanly reach only a small number of needful people. And no matter how many I might succeed in helping, there are still tens of thousands in need and out of my reach.

Recently, once again experiencing these feelings, I was more discouraged than ever. But then, after turning earnestly to God for new inspiration, I had a clear memory of a specific experience that showed me how we can help those it might be humanly impossible for us to reach.

At the time, I was extremely concerned about a much-loved family member who was having severe physical, financial, and emotional problems. I worried most of all about a relationship in which she was involved.
