"As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."

The centrality of the Bible and of the life purpose of the Master, Christ Jesus, was clearly articulated by Mary Baker Eddy in the six important points, or tenets, of her religious discovery, Christian Science (see Science and Health, p. 497). The first tenet is quoted above.

As many new translations and paraphrase editions of the Bible become available, it is important that the Authorized or King James Version not lose its rightful place in the libraries of students. The key concern, of course, is to understand the original, spiritual message of the Bible.
