Over the years, through the study and application of Christian Science, I have experienced many physical healings, including those of ulcers, headaches, twisted ankles, and the instantaneous healing of a heavy cold. Recently I had what was to me a marvelous healing.

At one time a swelling or bump appeared on top of my head. I really began to pray and study in earnest to heal the condition.

Some statements in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy helped a great deal, including these from page 393: "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government. Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation." On the same page we read, "Man is never sick, for Mind is not sick and matter cannot be."

In the Bible I found this helpful verse (Ps. 56:4): "In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me."

One day in the course of my business I had to take a flight of several hours. After we were airborne I began reading a copy of the Sentinel. A young lady seated next to me asked if I was "doing my morning devotional." I explained I was reading a Christian Science Sentinel and told her something about it. Since she seemed interested, I asked if she would like to read it. She accepted my offer, and by the time we reached our destination she had read the periodical from cover to cover!

She asked me if I had ever been healed "like the people in this magazine," and I replied that indeed I had had many healings through my study of Christian Science. I asked her if she would like to keep the Sentinel, and she eagerly said, "Oh, yes! May I?" I was very grateful for this experience and for the reminder of the many healings I had had, and I silently gave prayerful thanks.

My study, coupled with this lovely experience on the plane, led to a complete healing; about two hours after my plane trip the swelling began to drain. Soon the condition no longer existed, and it has not returned.

For the good gained from this prayerful study, for the experience on the plane, and for this healing, I am most grateful.
