Healings start in heaven
The assumptions we have about God and about our relation to Him play an important role in our health and well-being.
Christ Jesus' disciples recognized the need to know how to pray correctly. They had seen Jesus heal multitudes through prayer. When they asked him how to pray, the Master gave a pattern to follow in what is now known as the Lord's Prayer.
Jesus' healing work proved that God's will is not to torment, impoverish, or punish man, but to save mankind from all evil— from sickness, sin, and death. Jesus saw that this supremely good will of our Father applies here and now on earth, not just in some distant time or place.
The Lord's Prayer gives us that very hope—God's will "done in earth, as it is in heaven." Matt. 6:10. Healing prayer gives evidence here on earth of the glory and reality of heaven.
