Early in the morning, on our way back home from a trip, I woke up and saw that I had a rash all over. All day I knew that God was taking care of me. That night I cried a little and couldn't sleep. Mommy and Daddy prayed a lot. My daddy told me about a healing he had had through prayer in Christian Science. I also knew that there was no place for error to be because God is everywhere. During the night the itching and hurting stopped. When I woke up in the morning, I was healed.

Our daughter's healing occurred as she has stated. We all prayed a great deal to feel God's love. I knew her being was flawless as God's spiritual, perfect child. God fills all space, so there was no way that she could be contaminated or be less than perfect as His reflection. Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy guides us (p.391): "Mentally contradict every complaint from the body, and rise to the true consciousness of Life as Love,—as all that is pure, and bearing the fruits of Spirit."

When this same daughter was a year and a half, she became very ill. She was not able to eat. As I prayed, the thoughts that came were of God's love for all of His children and the need to uplift my thought to know that God is our divine Parent and ever-present good. He is the only power. We had the loving, steadfast help through prayer of a Christian Science practitioner and were also in touch with a Christian Science nurse.

While I was praying I came to a poem that was in an issue of The Christian Science Journal. In the poem the author spoke of resting, eating, and drinking in spiritual terms. The poem reminded me of God's manna from heaven and the still waters of purity and strength ever with us. I knew I could trust divine Love to meet the needs of our daughter.

Before long our daughter was well and full of activity and happiness. How grateful we were! Prayer for her did not cease, however, as we soon realized that she had experienced a hearing loss in one of her ears.

Two words from the definition of ears in the Glossary of Science and Health stood out to me—"spiritual understanding" (p.585). There was a real need for spiritual understanding—to know God better and understand the absolute perfection of His creation. In the Bible we read that everything that God made was very good (Gen. 1:31). I realized that our daughter's nature was and ever would continue to be the expression of this goodness.

We learned together the importance of striving to listen to God, to hear what God had to say to us each day. Shortly after the start of school, she was tested and found to be academically well advanced for her age.

She woke one morning and came running to me exclaiming that she could hear with that ear. She picked up my watch and could hear it tick and could clearly hear the birds chirping outside. That was such a great time for rejoicing and gratitude for the full healing, and we continue to rejoice in truly knowing God's love and watchful care over all of His children.

How grateful I am for the answers received from God through trusting Him and turning to Him in prayer as taught in Christian Science. This Science has given me a deeper, fuller understanding of God as Father-Mother. And the spiritual understanding of God gleaned through the study of this Science has definitely helped my husband and me in the raising of our daughters.

I am happy to verify that the healings related by my wife and our daughter took place as they have stated. Regarding the healing reported by our daughter, we prayed together to know of God's ever-present care and tender love. We reviewed many of the truths that she was learning at home and in the Christian Science Sunday School. I also told her of a healing I had in my early study of Christian Science. My healing of a painful back condition was quick, and I just knew that she could experience a quick healing, too. I was able to trust God completely. And in the morning our daughter woke healed.
