Making room for good
When you go to the seaside, do you like digging in the sand with your spade? If you want to make a little pond in the sand, maybe you dig a hole and then walk to the edge of the sea to fetch water in your bucket to fill your pond.
A better way to fill your pond would be to dig a channel from the edge of the sea to the hole. Then the seawater would just flow along the channel and into the hole quite easily and quickly. If you made the hole bigger, then more water from the sea might flow in.
Do you think you could dig a hole big enough to use up the sea? No, of course not. But the bigger you dig the hole, the more water it can hold.
