Forgiveness
When taut thoughts
Ripe with revenge
Would tempt me,
Arguing arrogance,
Pressing, probing,
Spreading insinuation
In my path,
Shall I assent, and say,
There's time to worship God another day?
This is God's day,
And I, through tears of joy
Have been forgiven.
So, like the Master
I can say,
Till seventy times seven,
I forgive.
And so I prove
There is no power
But God's all-conquering love.
