In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures Mary Baker Eddy...
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 66), "Trials are proofs of God's care." In Christian Science, trials become opportunities to grow spiritually by acknowledging man's oneness with God, our true Father-Mother.
I would like to share an experience that occurred twelve years ago, when our son was three weeks old. My husband and I were wakened during the night by his irregular breathing and crying. We were both extremely concerned. My husband, who is not a Christian Scientist, suggested I take the baby to a physician in the morning. My past experiences included many healings through total reliance on Science. But I felt compelled to respect my husband's concern and desire to have the child diagnosed by a physician.
The next morning I took our son to a pediatrician. The physician told me that the child had a funguslike disease in his throat called thrush and traces of a disease in his eyes. I was told that the trouble needed specific medical attention.
