Overcoming shortcomings
Man is not
a lowly tiller
of sordid scenarios,
unneighborly maneuverings
and various other mortal schemes.
We can rise
above this smallish
sense of self, of ill-gotten
questionable wealth, for man is
God-designed and statured in integrity.
Like Zacchaeus,
we can climb Truth's
sturdy tree, for up above
earth's crowd of morbid murmurings
we clearly see the Christ and hear Love's call.
As we obey, false
accusations fade away.
Salvation comes. For man,
God's image, is not small
but generous, just, reflecting All.
