I've had the blessings of Christian Science healing all my life. When I needed help as a child, Mother often called a Christian Science practitioner for me. But when I was sixteen and I had been unsuccessful in my search for part-time employment, Mother suggested that I call a practitioner myself. When I asked the practitioner for help, she said that she would pray for me but that I had some work to do also. She wanted me to work with one of the synonyms for God—Principle. I did this and gained a clearer understanding of God as Principle, governing all in complete harmony.

The following day I went to the local supermarket for my mother. It was a new store located only a block from our house. The manager walked up to me and asked if I would like to be a part-time checker. I joyously accepted.

After I was married, my husband and I realized we would need more income to meet our obligations. I was already holding a part-time job. One day while I was doing my housework, I prayed, recognizing God as the supplier of all good to His children. I was scrubbing the floor when the telephone rang. It was an offer of a better-paying position from a prior place of employment. They wanted me to be on the staff at their new branch office. The new job doubled my income.
