I pray
that my thought may a manger be,
like the manger of our Lord,
welcoming the eternal Christ
ever newly born.
I pray
that my thought may a manger be,
humble enough to receive
the blessing of each angel sent
by Love to teach and heal;
soft enough to cradle
the Advent—infant bud,
ascending fruit of Love;
strong enough to embrace
the dispensation of His grace.
