The testimonies of healing in the Christian Science periodicals —week by week and month by month—mean so much to me and are so helpful and encouraging that, at long last, I feel moved to share my own gratitude for the wonderful blessings of Christian Science.

Seventeen years ago my life seemed at a very low ebb. My marriage had ended very unexpectedly after twenty-six happy years. I was faced with coping on my own (our four children were adult enough to be leading their own lives) on a greatly reduced income. My husband and I had both been active members of our parish church, but I did not find the help I needed there. What help did I need? I prayed, declaring in the words of the Psalmist, "Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory" (Ps. 73:24).

My answer came when an acquaintance, realizing how very distressed and unhappy I was, talked to me of Christian Science and asked if I would like to get in touch with a Christian Science practitioner. I did so, and this practitioner very lovingly told me of our Father's infinite, all-encompassing love for each and every one. She helped me turn my thoughts away from negative, resentful, hurt feelings, to a recognition of the presence of Christ, to a better understanding of our preciousness to our Father-Mother God, and to an acknowledgment of man as God's spiritual reflection—made in His image and likeness to reflect His glory.
