A letter signed, "Peace, Dr. Morgan"
Several Christmases ago an unusual letter arrived at our church headquarters here in Boston.
The writer of the letter, a medical doctor and pediatrician, had seen an advertisement placed by some of our church members in a newspaper in his area. The ad had quietly explained the reasoned trust of Christian Scientists in God's healing power, and had offered a book, A Century of Christian Science Healing, to anyone who was interested.
The ad seemed necessary because of legal prosecution and much censorious public discussion after the passing of a child in a Christian Scientist family. The doctor's letter was dated just a few days before Christmas. He wrote:
