When I was a child in preschool, I began to suffer severe sick...
When I was a child in preschool, I began to suffer severe sick headaches. This difficulty continued for many years. The illness always confined me to bed for two or three days at a time. My parents took good care of me and sought the best that medical treatment had to offer. They tried many remedies but found little help. The medical world offered no hope for a cure.
After I had married, my husband found himself nursing me through those trying times. He was always loving and compassionate, and, in an effort to keep the atmosphere light, he began to refer to "Joan's lost weekend!"—even when the illness came in the middle of the week. I was bedridden much of the time.
My freedom from the recurring headaches came some years after we had begun relying on Science for healing. I woke early one morning with the symptoms coming on fast. I tried to eat breakfast and to dress for work. When I couldn't, I went back to bed in tears.
