Lacking something ...?
If God doesn't rain "pennies from heaven," how does He meet our needs? Can we rely on Him?
Can God help when something is lacking—money perhaps? Clearly He does not rain "pennies from heaven"! Ritualistic prayers asking the Almighty for such help seldom seem effective. Many people simply struggle on by themselves.
Yet starting with God is the best way to tackle any problem. Before dismissing the very idea as mere pious hoping (as I once would have done), why not ask what sort of God is to be relied upon?
Emphatically, not a god sitting up there wringing his hands in celestial exasperation, hoping that his creation, which seems to be running wild, will one day come back under divine control; not that sort of god nor that kind of creation.
