Light
How to reach the world!
How to heal the world!
Trim your lamp—
be the light
that you were
made to be—
pure, clear, bright.
Don't listen to
the world's old song—
"Just dim your light.
You're much too bright.
You won't be liked
if you're too bright.
"Besides, you're burning too much oil
with such a flame!
You'll burn much longer—look so nice
if you'll turn down
that bright, white light.
You need a softer,
more attractive glow."
But which goes farther?
Reaches more?
The pure, clear, bright, white
beam of light?
The light of Truth
that lights the world?
Or the meager,
hungry flame
that barely glows?
