In this Book of books
The searching thought opens a treasure,
a storehouse of wisdom's words,
a record of our heart ascending.
The heart finds a guide,
a comfort,
and the closest of friends,
the story of God's love, pure and unending.
The Bible has opened our eyes
and strengthened our lives
by the truth of its words and their depth.
The healing it brings is as sure as it's strong:
each truth that it speaks
is a promise
from God.
God's promises always are kept.
