May the following testimony inspire hope and expectation of God's ever-present care, and express my deep gratitude for the Science of Christ.
My paternal grandparents turned to Christian Science when my father had a serious illness as an infant. Following his healing they became active students of Science, and my grandmother became a Christian Science practitioner.
My mother was not a Christian Scientist when my parents were first married, but after she witnessed the very quick healing through prayer of a serious infection and gangrene manifested by my father, she accepted the fact that Christian Science healing is reliable and valid. My brother and I were enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, and this teaching became the basis of my life. Since this early start I have relied completely on this Science for healing.
