How grateful I am to have had opportunities to prove that...
How grateful I am to have had opportunities to prove that Christian Science heals. Recently, while in the mountains of Colorado, I woke in the night in extreme pain. The situation was alarming. We were fifty miles from the nearest town and six or seven miles from a telephone.
I knew that the most practical solution to any problem is to turn to God. The ninety-first Psalm says (verse 15), "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him." So in prayer I turned wholeheartedly to God, and the first thought that came to me was "the scientific statement of being" from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I began to pray earnestly, affirming the beginning of this statement (p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all."
Before I could proceed any further, the word matter stood out in my thought as if in bold letters. I knew that there is no matter and that this fact acts as a law of annihilation to the belief of pain. With this understanding the pain left immediately. I was healed. The Biblical promise in the ninety-first Psalm had been made practical.
