Glorifying God by overcoming sickness
God's love does heal. And every healing is a living testimony to God's power and glory.
What a joyful surprise to experience a wonderful healing from the first glorious glimpse Christian Science gives that man is not a suffering, helpless mortal but the greatly beloved child of God, His very image and likeness!
This healing touch of the Christ so arouses us that we want to know more about this saving truth. We become engrossed in an eager and joyful study of the Christian Science textbooks— the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy—and we spend much time in prayerful communion with God. We have entered the path from corporeal sense to divine Spirit, from material concepts to a growing understanding of divine ideas, and we feel closer and closer to our Father-Mother God. Life becomes regenerated, our experience more harmonious.
In Christian Science, study, prayer, and practice of what we are learning are our tools in meeting life's challenges on the basis of God's allness, which leaves no room for evil to occupy. But sometimes a sincere Christian Scientist who earnestly and devotedly strives to understand God and his unseverable relationship to Him may be challenged with a disease or some other severe discord that has not yielded—even with the prayerful help of a consecrated Christian Science practitioner.
