Christian Science has become a way of life for me
Christian Science has become a way of life for me. My heart overflows with gratitude for this great teaching. With it I feel prepared to meet the challenges that come along each day.
Recently while my husband and I were on an overseas trip, I ate some oysters that apparently were not fresh. The following day I felt quite ill. The first thought that came to me was, "Is there a law of God that says I must suffer from eating oysters, good or bad?" I reasoned there was not. Then I thought, "Have I sinned by eating these oysters? No, I certainly have not. Then how could I suffer?" I took the stand that only God's law was governing me, and this law was harmonious; therefore I could not suffer or be ill. I also worked with that week's Bible Lesson. The following day I was well and able to go on a scheduled outing.
Our trip was most enjoyable. I started each day with my study of the lesson, and I acknowledged God's protection and guidance all the way. We traveled on small planes, big planes, helicopters and boats, and I rejoiced in God's omnipresence. I attribute the harmony we enjoyed to my study and practice of Christian Science.
