"... In our present society, sex and love have become dangerously synonymous, so that our favourite euphemism for sex has become 'making love'. This is a fairly new idea, and has certainly not been the case in all societies.
"What we don't often realize is that sexual desire, frustration and satisfaction are basically physical, biochemical activities whereas love, in the true sense of the word, is non-physical. But because sex is highly arousing emotionally as well as physically, we all too often mistake the longing for sex as being 'in love'.
