Living forever
One night when I was young I woke up thinking there was a bear on my bed licking me! But it was only Sue, our new kitten, whose tongue was as rough as sandpaper. I was so excited that night to have her. and to hear her scurrying around and jumping on everybody's bed, including mine.
We had lots of happy times with Sue, who soon grew up to be a cat. I could see that she expressed good qualities. Sometimes she just sat on my lap quietly, expressing obedience, gentleness, and goodness.
Sometimes she played with me, and she was intelligent and joyful. We loved Sue, and we would pray for her when she didn't seem to be well or if she happened to get hurt. When we prayed we declared that God is Love, as it says in the Bible, and that He made "every living creature that moveth ...: and God saw that it was good." Gen. 1:21.
