"Thy God, which delighted in thee"
What does joy have to do with healing? Everything, when it's God's joy in us!
The warm welcome of a parent or a special friend makes us happy, but an infinitely greater joy is found in our relationship to—our unity with—our own Father-Mother God.
The human father may glow with pride and joy in his son or daughter, but how infinite is our heavenly Father's joy in each of His loved children. Man is His perfect, radiant spiritual expression, His image and likeness, the only child He could possibly know.
The prophets and psalmists of ancient times, in moments of spiritual uplift, had a wonderful sense of God's joy in His children, of God's active delight in them. This uplifting inspiration must have come from an awareness that all good and beauty originate in God. The Bible writers were inspired by their own closeness to God and by overwhelming gratitude to Him. Realizing God's delight in man, they saw something of their own true nature, their own spiritual goodness.
