Have you ever wrestled with this self-recriminating multiple-choice accusation? I have—more than once.
I remember one incident in particular. While closing an overhead garage door late one evening, I caught my hand between two of the door panels. In my effort to jerk the hand free before the door closed completely, I lacerated the index finger.
