The radiance of womanhood

Womanhood comes under considerable attack in modern-day society. Rather than dwell on its purity, receptivity, and strength, many media images in particular adulterate and abuse womanhood. They would defile the high standard of womanhood described in Genesis 1:27 and unknowingly base all views of woman on the curse on Eve (see Gen. 3:16).

How much of this ignorant and misguided view underlies our own conception of womanhood? Have we unwittingly taken in the picture our society too often paints? Do we view woman as a sex object, as a childbearer who gives birth in painful labor, and as a victim of monthly depression and emotional ups and downs?

These poignant questions came at me with full force as I faced up to a chronic "female disorder." In fact, throughout my teen-age and young adult years I had been plagued with this difficulty. I had sought medical attention in the past but with no lasting results. Now, as a practicing Christian Scientist, I looked to God for healing.
