I am convinced that through my desire to prove the healing power of Christian Science and also through an understanding of this statement found in Psalms (46:1), "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble," divine Love healed me.
During my last year of college I was faced with a physical problem. A gland on the right side of my neck had gradually swollen to over twice its normal size. There was some discomfort. But mostly the condition was an unsightly nuisance, and I wore high-necked clothing and scarves to hide it.
That last year of college I was preparing to do student teaching in an elementary and a junior high school in the field I had majored in. I would be working with both youngsters and adults. It was an important part of my education, especially in terms of finalizing my career preparations.
