FOR CHILDREN
Child of God—not a showoff
I was excited about my first sleep-over at Grandma and Grandpa's. And Grandma told me a new family with four children had moved in next door. So I wanted to go outside to see them right away.
Just as I got near the fence between Grandma's yard and theirs, the big girl told me I'd better stop. "That's poison ivy," she said. "If you touch it you'll be sorry!"
I'd never heard of poison ivy. But I did want to play with the children. I was very shy, and afraid they wouldn't pay any attention to me. So I started to show off. I picked a bunch of the green ivy leaves they called poison and fanned and touched my face with them.
