Let Truth be heard

"Spirit, God, is heard when the senses are silent," Science and Health, p. 89. writes Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health. Awakening to what we truly are —God's reflection, spiritual man—we each have the ability to let God be expressed through our words and lives in ways that will bless humanity beyond what we can imagine. How important it is, then, to be such a transparency for Truth, God, that God's presence may be recognized and felt.

Our Saviour, Christ Jesus, was the perfect witness for Truth. His unique embodiment of Christ endowed him with ideas that came straight from the heart of God, divine Love. Because Jesus spoke the truth, his incisive words reached the receptive thoughts of all those who were longing for something better than what they had. When the Master spoke, Truth was heard, and the human need was answered. That Jesus was totally convinced that his message was from God and would endure forever is indicated by his statement "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." Luke 21:33.

Today, his followers, wherever they are in the world, might also pray for that same spiritual conviction that the words of Truth they speak are true and do have effective and lasting healing results. As we recognize that our true being is God's reflection, we learn also that the spiritual truth we speak is not of our own making, but is the divine Mind's witnessing of its own perfection through its spiritual idea, man. Then we have confidence in the divinely based power of those words to rouse humanity out of its sleepy resistance to Truth.
