I'm thankful to have the perfect Physician—God—and to have learned to trust Him through the study of Christian Science.
After going through a divorce following twenty-one years of marriage, I spent a good deal of time studying Christian Science to gain a better understanding of my relationship to God and my innate completeness as His spiritual idea. There were many times of conflict, many battles with a false sense of self: self-pity, self-will, self-justification, and self-righteousness. Yet as I studied and prayed, I gained much dominion. Loneliness was overcome when my thoughts were directed to companioning with God. I saw that He is our constant companion, and I felt that love.
I didn't think too much about remarriage during this time, but after two and a half years I felt the need for human companionship. Soon I met a fine man, and the qualities I cherished were abundantly expressed through him. Shortly we married.
