Onward
Goliaths of today would mock our trust
In God's supremacy. Inspired by Paul
And following the Christ, in prayer we must
Defend, attack, and stand; know God is All.
When we seem targeted by darts of fire
(False fears become intense, press in upon
Our consciousness), we seek to raise thought higher;
From foot to head we gird God's armor on.
Our belt is Truth, and tempered faith our shield;
Feet shod in peace, with helmets of salvation.
While righteousness protects our hearts, we wield
God's sword—God's Word—almighty revelation.
God's allness, realized, drives evil out.
So, onward, Christian soldier, never doubt!
