FOR CHILDREN
Meeting my need
Late last summer I was in my backyard with my brother and a friend. We were swinging too high, and the frame of the swing set was bouncing in and out of the ground.
Mom was weeding in the garden. She asked us to quit swinging so hard. My brother and I got off the swings. My friend kept swinging. I tried to hold the frame down, but it came down on my finger and cut it badly. Mom and I went into the house. As we washed the finger we said the Lord's Prayer. We tried to see God as only good, and His child, man, as always good too.
I told Mom it was all right for her to go outside again. I kept on praying by myself. I felt pretty good, but I was still mad at my friend. And I was afraid that when school started I would not be able to write.
