This is written in the hope that it will help others...
This is written in the hope that it will help others seeking salvation through God's promised Comforter, divine Science. Also I wish to testify to the spiritual regeneration that the reading of the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, has brought to my own life.
I was introduced to Christian Science in 1975. At the time I was a moderately successful commercial photographer. I gave little thought to the fact that I drank socially, smoked marijuana, aggressively sought out women interested in casual sex, and was not above dishonesty for profit. My one recurring burden was a skin disease that doctors had diagnosed as incurable, and for which I was regularly using a prescription lotion. I considered myself a reasonably happy modern-day male, although I was disturbed by the skin problem. In fact, I felt helpless before it.
Then a friend invited me to go to a Christian Science Reading Room. Out of curiosity I went. While there, and without really knowing why, I purchased a copy of the Christian Science textbook. I did not begin reading the book until a month later. When I did, things started to happen. My thoughts about women began to change for the better. In my relationships with them, respect replaced competition. I became uneasy around drugs and eventually stopped using them. I found I had just as much fun without alcohol. I began to refute the belief that matter could be the source of happiness, and to recognize that the real man is spiritual, the image of God. All this happened simply from my reading Science and Health.
