How to stop thinking thoughts that are not our own
Why do some members of a sports team, all at the same time, suddenly lose their skill in scoring? Because they're responding to a mental atmosphere, almost as though it were contagious.
Why do we frequently buy what we are told to buy on television and end up feeling we simply have to have what others have?
Why do we tend to condemn the things others condemn and approve the things others approve? In retrospect we may wonder why we ever felt that way. It's a kind of unwitting servitude.
