I was brought up in a Protestant religion, but I did not stick with it, as it did not answer my questions about God. Later my experience attending a university turned me toward atheism and agnosticism. Finally, tired of having nothing really to believe in, I began to investigate many of the world's great religions.
After college I married. My husband was a Christian Scientist, and I went to church with him. But I didn't understand what I heard there, so I still searched. I thought, "Something made us; something keeps the basic order and harmony in the world. Something governs. Is it nature? But what's behind nature?"
