Some time ago, while working as an assistant manager at a supermarket in Hawaii, I experienced proof of God's love, protection, care, and guidance. At one time a hurricane was moving toward an area near the store. The power went out as the storm grew worse, so we closed the store early. I was the last person to leave. It was dark and rainy by then, and the wind was blowing so hard that it was knocking over trees and carrying things through the air.
At first, listening to the reports, I grew fearful about my journey home. But as I quietly prayed the Lord's Prayer and began turning my thoughts to God for comfort, spiritual truths poured into consciousness, reminding me that God protects and cares for His children, and that no harm could come to me so long as I continued to listen for and obey His guidance. I then knew that it was safe for me to proceed home.
