Safe in Spirit

The growing understanding of Spirit, God, leads not only to healing but to a deep conviction of assurance and safety in all circumstances. Man is not really a mortal who is subject to all kinds of unexpected disasters. Man is God's beloved child, eternally safe in His constant care.

These may seem radical statements in view of the obvious trials that people encounter. But as we gain some understanding of our actual relationship to God—a glimpse of man's security in Spirit—we do begin to find freedom from the fears and dangers of mortal existence.

What is meant by the phrase "man's security in Spirit"? It means that because we are God's offspring we all actually live in the presence of God, Spirit, and are the man of His creating—the man who is wholly spiritual and unassailable. We learn this through a process of discovery. Even though our eyes tell us that we're material, vulnerable beings, Christian Science reveals that our true selfhood is the immortal expression of God, of eternal Life and Love.
