Once I was unwell during exam time at the Middle School I attended, and I was not able to sit for most of the exams, except for two or three subjects. (I had had a very mild case of jaundice, which was soon healed in Christian Science. But school regulations required that I stay out of classes for a fifteen-day recuperation period.)
I returned to school a few days before our Annual Prize List was to be announced by our principal. My friend told me that this time I would not be getting any prizes, as I had missed most of my terminal exams. However, as it turned out, I was awarded the class prize as well as the prize for "best student in the Middle School." Both prizes were based on our whole year's work.
After the announcements my friends just kept away from me and were heard mumbling that it was not fair and that the principal had shown partiality. On seeing my friends' behavior, I silently denied what I saw and affirmed that in God's kingdom there is only harmony. Since we are all truly His beloved children, we always love one another.
