Together

REGINA SMARIDGE

"Take my yoke upon you,"
our great Master said.
It is better when there are two.
A yoke is a joining.
Jesus, who knew
he was never alone,
would have us know
this invincibility too.
His yoke
joins me to the Christ.
Nothing to dread.
Nothing we cannot do
when one is the Christ—
we two.
